Weekend In New Hampshire

Those of you who left comments on the last post know the significance of this weekend. Yes, it's my birthday weekend. Thanks Mom for letting everyone know that I'm another year older. You're the best.

To celebrate my march into old age, my friend Kim invited me to her home in New Hampshire. Have you been to New Hampshire? It's beautiful. It's also cold. Very cold. Penguins could be very happy here.

There are a lot of snow plows in New Hampshire.

And icicles are everywhere.

Not too far from Kim's house is an outlet shopping area in Kittery, Maine.  So, Saturday I spent the day poking around the outlets, checking to see if there were any after holiday bargains to be found. And for the most part there was nothing to write home about. But today was a different story....

Today I visited the Stonewall Kitchen outlet store in Rochester, New Hampshire. Have you heard of Stonewall Kitchen? Boy, do they make a yummy product!

Look at the prices! $2.97 for Barefoot Contessa's cupcake and frosting mix.

I cannot wait to try this lime bar mix. Did I mention that I'm craving citrus lately??

Not only do they have lots of good stuff to eat, they carry tons of fun products for the kitchen.

Imperfect dulce de leche? Is that even possible? I'm guessing it would be just fine over vanilla ice cream.

Before leaving for the outlet, Kim's husband Anthony mentioned that we wouldn't need to spend much more than a half of an hour at the store. I guess he doesn't know me very well. I could've spent a couple of hours there and been quite happy about it.

Oh, and if you can't get your hubby to go shopping with you, you might be able to get him to the Stonewall Kitchen outlet store. There's a huge table full of products to sample. He could spend the whole time munching away while you shop. Men like free samples.

I had so much fun at the Stonewall Kitchen that I'm going to be hosting a Stonewall Kitchen giveaway tomorrow here at The Coupon Goddess.  Make sure you come back to enter. It's going to be delicious.

The weekend is almost over now and I'm two days into my 42nd year. It's not quite as painful as I anticipated. Thank God for good friends, wine and chocolate. And definitely in that order. They make getting older that much easier.

I laughed aloud at the half an hour comment. The thing about it is, I get so lost to time's passing in a store like that.

Shivery cold, where you are. We are on the same seaboard but it is warm here. It struggles to get out of the seventies at noon. We need some rain so our grass won't get "crunchy."

Belated Happy Birthday Greetings, but sincere nonetheless.

Happy Belated Birthday! As a born and bred Mainer (who now lives in MA) I shivered at the photos of the plows and ice. Used to love the snow as a kid...now, not so much. Too bad you didn't find any good deals in Kittery -- it's always hit or miss.
Glad you had luck at Stonewall -- looks like a fun place to spend more than 1/2 an hour. LOL!!

Happy Birthday Melanie! Glad to hear you are out and about even in the cold and nasty weather! Be careful on the ice and snow!! You can't afford to fall, no set backs for you!! Sounds and looks like the Stonewall Kitchen trip made up for a 'miss' at the Kittery Outlets. Looking forward to reading about your give away later today!

Happy Birthday! Looks like you had fun in NH. Have you ever checked out Salmon Falls Stoneware in Dover (not far from stonewall kitchen)... I LOVE their baking stuff, and they have a fantastic "seconds" room!

I will be spending Saturday in NH. Have you visited the Pendelton store? Most beautiful woolen blankets I've ever seen. My sons liked them so much that we ended up getting each of them one for their Confirmation. Check it out. I intend on visiting the Stonewall Kitchen over the summer. Thanks for the head's up.
