Last night was the debut of Toy Story 3 Disney On Ice in Boston. MY family was invited to the debut which made my kids extremely happy. The Toy Story movies have been a big hit with all of my kids, so when I asked my teens if they wanted to go they were totally on board. It's so rare to have a family activity that all of the kids can enjoy considering that my kids span the ages from sixteen down to seven years of age. I was thrilled that we could do something as a group that was appealing to everyone.
Before the show we were treated to a buffet dinner that was extremely kid friendly. When the kids saw the hot dogs, chicken fingers, and make your own nacho bar their eyes got as big as saucers. It was my girl's first buffet, so they were pretty excited about the all you can eat idea. At first Shannon was a little tentative as you can see in the photo above, but she quickly embraced the buffet concept.
Hanging with friends.
A rare picture of all the kids together. As they get older it seems like they are never in the same place at the same time anymore.
After dinner we listened to the fine folks from Disney talk about the show. It amazes me what a great job Disney does with media relations. They do everything topnotch.
Even the boys were enthusiastic except for when I force posed them in front of the banner. You rarely see pictures of my boys on the blog because as soon as I whip my camera out, poof they are gone. I tried to get Aidan to hold the balloon bouquet, but he would not cooperate. Party pooper.
Woody and Buzz made an appearance which made Shannon all shades of euphoric.
Leela on the other hand was terrified which should make our Disney trip next month very interesting.
Even mom played along. Actually, I'm a bit of a Disney fanatic. I really love everything Disney. When we lived in Tampa we had seasons passes which I loved just as much as the little ones. Have you heard of pin trading at the parks? I'll write more about that next month, but I have a good size collection of Disney pins. Pin trading at the parks is so much fun.
Disney put us in a suite which was really cool. It was the first time my kids have ever been in a suite and I think the thing that most excited the girls was the private potty. My girls have bladders that are the size of peas, so they made great use of that private potty.
The show itself was the very best Disney On Ice show I've ever seen. The music was awesome and the storyline captivated my girls. They thought it was really cool to see their favorite characters come to life.
Buzz made an incredible entrance in the air with blazing rockets. Even my sons were impressed.
Barbie was one of the highlights of the show. She was an amazing skater and played Barbie just perfectly. What I wouldn't do for her flexibility.
And Toy Story On Ice would not be the same without the green Army guys.
We were all feeling the Disney love as exemplified by the darling Kim.
My absolute favorite character from Toy Story is the little green men. They are so fruit loopin' cute.
There was no escaping the icies. It's the middle of February. We are in an ice rink and my girls want frozen drinks.
After the show was over we gathered up our exhausted sugar filled kids and made our way down to the parking garage. On our way out we spotted an arm wrestling table which of course the boys had to try. Aidan and Jeff took this quite seriously.
Aidan has a few more years before he will be able to beat his father.
Of course Mom had to get in on the competition too.
While I can't claim victory, I can proudly tell you that it was a draw. Not bad for a mom, eh?
All in all it was a fantastic evening. Toy Story 3 Disney On Ice was a spectacular show with fantastic skaters, music, and storyline. We all had a great time including my older kids. I'm so thankful for rare opportunities such as this to do things together as a family. It won't be much longer before my oldest goes off to college, so I'm grasping on to moments like this before they become a thing of the past.
Thank you to Disney Destinations and BSM Media for providing the tickets and dinner. We had a fantastic time.

I love that you mentioned pin trading! I got married at WDW and am hoping to finally make it back next year. Being a Californian, we are at DL more often. I do have a small collection of wedding theme pins though. I'll have to break them out again. Wanna trade? :-)
The show looks great, I know my 4 year old would love it. So I checked and it comes to town on his 5th birthday!! I think it's a sign that it's meant to be!! Thanks for the great pictures or I probably would never have checked into it!!

Terry would have fainted! He is such a Toy Story fanatic! Looks like an ah-mazing time and you look great!
We just got back from Disney and, no, we didn't know about the pin trading...until we were smack-dab in the middle of it! It's like a underground world that I did not know existed!!! The kids were just as happy about trading pins with the Disney folks as they were about the rides!!
